Shire Hall

7:12am 29th May 2014

The final touches are being put together for a bid to win funding to transform Dorchester's Shire Hall.

West Dorset District Council want to turn the site, which includes the Old Crown Court and Cells, into a flagship heritage attraction.

Council Leader Cllr Robert Gould told Wessex FM: "We are currently putting together a round two funding application bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore Shire Hall including the Old Crown Court and Cells on High West Street in Dorchester to transform the site into a flagship heritage attraction.

"We will submit the application to the Heritage Lottery Fund in August 2014 and will know their decision in November 2014."
