'Made In Chelsea' Star Backs Anti-Windfarm Campaign
12:04am 8th June 2014
A star from TV series Made In Chelsea is backing a campaign to stop a windfarm going up near the village of Tolpuddle.
Francis Boulle is going to be at Waterston Manor today, where campaigners are putting on a special fundraising event.
The privately owned gardens, which featured in the Thomas Hardy classic, Far From The Madding Crowd aren't usually open to the public.
Katherine Butler of Waterston Manor is a leading campaigner against wind turbines:
"What we are fighting against is putting up alien, industrial size structures in the very beautiful landscape which is just outside an area of outstanding natural beauty. And fundamentally we don't believe onshore wind is a very efficient way of solving our problems of dirty energy."
In addition there will be many stalls for both adults and children, selling specialist local plants such as David Austin Roses, North American Prairie Plants, Ferns & Grasses, Rare & Unusual Perennials and Plants for Pollinators, food and arts and craft as well a live music, a bouncy castle, fun dog show and cream teas.
The gardens will be open between 10am and 4pm and are at Waterston Manor, Lower Waterston, near Puddletown DT2 7SP.
