A production company making a TV show in Dorset are appealing for your help to keep them monkeying around.
'Monkey Life' filmed at Monkey World in Wareham has been going for seven years, but as Primate Planet Productions were filming for Series Eight the TV channel which currently shows the programme, 'Animal Planet', has announced it won't be screening the latest series.
The production company now need to raise funds to finish the post-production. They've started a 40 day online campaign to try and raise the money from public donations. They need a £197,000 and the campaign was launched on the 12th June. Primate Planet Productions are hoping that if they raise the cash and finish the series another TV channel will pick it up.
We spoke to the production company's Managing Director, Susan Tunstall, "We're asking people to pledge towards finishing the programme, so we're not asking for people to contribute to any of the costs we've already incurred with filming, it's purely so that we can professionally edit and pay production costs for things like music licensing and voiceovers."
Susan says they've received a lot of support so far, "We've had hundreds of emails from the supporters of the show- some of them describe it as their 'Monkey Fix'- they care passionately about what happens at the park and about the residents here. It would be awful if people didn't get to see the footage that we've filmed."
