9:18am 17th June 2014
Portland Coastguard requested the assistance of Weymouth RNLI inshore lifeboat to go to the aid of a 7 metre cabin cruiser which was aground on rocks near Osmington with its anchor down.
The inshore lifeboat launched at 2.40pm on Sunday 15th June 2014.
The vessel was checked over by the volunteer crew of the lifeboat for taking in water but none was found.
A towline was connected and the vessel was towed clear of the rocks and its anchor retrieved.
Once clear of the rocks, the casualty made its own way back to Weymouth.
