Whether you think you're the next Bradley Wiggins or Lizzie Armistead OR maybe just a casual cyclist, you can get a free MOT test in Dorchester today (Wednesday 18th June).
Cycle experts will be at County Hall between 12pm and 4pm to give your wheels a check-up, fix punctures, adjust your brakes and gears, as well as offering you some helpful advice on potential problems while giving tips on looking after your bike.
The event has been organised by the County Council as part of National Bike Week.
Dorset County Council's Cabinet member for environment and the economy Peter Finney said the free sessions are for everyone:
"Cycling is a great way of getting around; it gets you fit and saves you money. Bike Week is not just for established cyclists, it's about promoting cycling for everyone and showing just how easily riding can become part of everyday life."
There's also a free bike maintenance session in Weymouth on Sunday 22 June at Westham Bridge secure cycle parking compound from 10.30am-3pm. Organisers say you can cycle into town with the family and leave your bikes to collect later in the day.
To celebrate bike week the new Weymouth Way shared path is being officially opened. The two-mile (3km) route joins together Weymouth town centre with the Relief Road cycle path.
Bike Week is the biggest nationwide cycling event in the UK, and encourages over half a million people to join in events, rethink their everyday journeys and switch to cycling as the most convenient way to get around.
