High Hopes Grass Tennis Courts Will Be A Smash

It's hoped grass court tennis will be back in Dorchester by this time next week (Mon 23rd-27th June).
The lines for a pair of youth sized courts are going to be drawn over the coming days on the old Bowls Green in Borough Gardens.
Steve Newman from the Town Council told us there was a slight delay in getting the nets and kit which is why the free public courts won't be ready for the first day of Wimbledon, like was originally planned.
But he said they're aiming to have the free public grass courts up and ready to go by the end of next week.
Steve says although the swish grass courts are designed for children, adults will be able to play too:
"The main thing is we want the area to be used as much as possible, so what we're thinking of at the moment is to purchase tennis nets to they can be used for badminton play as well."
The decision to create the courts was made in an effort to stamp out anti-social behaviour after a number of incidents were reported on the green.
