Dorchester Prison is now officially up for sale.
Wessex FM has now seen details of the former jail which is being marketed by Jones Lang LaSalle. The site is being offered as a freehold, and has Grade II listing.
It's thought a buyer may be interested in a double purchase of the former Dorchester jail and a jail in Shepton Mallet that's also been closed.
There's been lots of ideas locally about what the former prison could be used for.
We spoke to Alison Moore, who's the President of the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce back in March.
She told us she's visited a former prison in Oxford that's now a successful hotel.
"I've stayed in the one in Oxford and I think it's quite fascinating. There's also one in Exeter which is the old eye hospital. I think it's quirky and if they have good food why not. It's a brilliant local in Dorchester as you can walk from the station."
Lots of you have joined the discussion on our Facebook page with mixed views on what the old Dorchester Prison could be used for.
Linda Hill from Weymouth says, it should've stayed open: "Should never have closed it"
Laurence Burch in Dorchester would like to see it help get people off the streets: "Homeless Shelter."
Weymouth Donna Miller said her partner has a vision for its future: "My husband said he would like to make it into a themed hotel if he ever won the lottery."
Lisa Zanders would like to see it opened for tours: "Why don't they have a open day so people can go and see in it."
Dorchester's Victorian jail was closed in December 2013 after the Ministry of Justice said it was too old to modernise and they were to invest more money on new super jails elsewhere in the country.
