Sponsored Walk In Memory Of Ethan
7:03am 2nd July 2014
Friends and family of a Weymouth couple who lost their 15 month old son to epilepsy have started a major fundraising effort.
Sue Reman-Carter's son Ethan died on the 2nd May after having a seizure in his sleep.
Sue told Wessex FM:
"We thought his seizures were under control. He was on his medication. He was three weeks seizure free until the day before he died. Even thought he was on medication we thought everything would be OK and in our case it wasn't."
This Sunday Sue's sister Mandy is doing a sponsored walk from Weymouth to Portland to raise money for Epilepsy Research.
"She's got loads of support from family and friends. She's previously done the London Marathon so she wanted to do something to for Ethan's passing and his memory. So get on to Portland, stand up and clap along and put your money in the pot."
Sue says a group of friends on Facebook have also been holding sponsored events.
"It's a small group of about 22 of us. Quite a few are child minders so they've set up a just giving page in Ethan's memory and have so far raised £2,500."
