Dorset Health Campaigners have used the 66th anniversary of the NHS to get more signatures on their petition to save the Pathology service at Dorset County Hospital.
More than 3,000 names are already down, objecting to plans to put the service out to private tender.
This weekend their stall was out in Dorchester again.
Councillor Ros Kayes, prospective Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for West Dorset, says the operation at Dorchester is a centre of excellence for cancer research.
She fears for patients if the service is moved out of county, which she says would cause them extra expense and stress.
Cllr Kayes doesn't want the service to be run by a private company, because she claims the record of privatised pathology labs isn't good.
