Longer than expected engineering works halted train services from Weymouth to London this morning (Tuesday 8th July).
Engineers working on the tracks at Wool overnight didn't manage to finish on time leading to early morning services from Poole and Weymouth.
South West Trains kept passengers up to date on the situation via their Twitter feed.
"NEW: No trains between Poole and Weymouth expected until 07:00 #Wool"
#Wool engineers have completed the work to the line. It is now open for train use. We will begin running services from Weymouth to Waterloo."
Trains were back running along the mainline from Weymouth toward Waterloo at 7am - just in time for the morning commute.
