Charles Street Development Plans On View

Plans for the Charles Street Development are on display in South Street, Dorchester.
Hundreds of local residents are believed to have visited the exhibition which outlined the development plans.
Executives of the development were on hand to talk locals through the plans step by step.
Alistair Calder, the Senior Project Manager at Simons, explained the plans to Wessex FM:
" The development consists of two levels of basement car parking which will provide in the region of 460 car parking spaces.
There will be pedestrian malls which will deliver in the region of about 160,000sq ft of new retail space.
The development aims to create a mixed use, vibrant environment, which will enhance the current Dorchester town centre"
The plans will be on display again today (Saturday) at the former 'Bryter Latte' shop on South street from 10am to 3.30pm.
