Weymouth and Portland CAB Back Open On Thursdays
6:56am 24th July 2014
Weymouth and Portland Citizen's Advice Bureau will be back open on Thursday afternoons for the first time in years.
The CAB's run a successful campaign to recruit more volunteers.
More than 37,000 people across Dorset got FREE help from Citizen's Advice last year.
Bob Bullin, the bureau manager, said "We have been closed on Thursday afternoons for a number of years but last autumn's successful recruitment campaign means that we are now able to offer an afternoon drop-in triage service to clients".
Rachel Rogers, who is in charge of the bureau's advice services said, "We currently only offer gateway triage services in the mornings so opening on Thursday afternoons will be a big help to those who cannot get to us before midday. The bureau will close at 1pm to enable volunteers to have a quick break and will then reopen from 1.30pm - 3.30pm."
The Bureau will be reopening its doors to the public on Thursday afternoons with effect from 4 August.
If you are interested in volunteering, either as an adviser or in an administrative capacity, please contact either Bob, Rachel or training manager Les on 01305 770325.
