Weymouth Lifeboat Week Begins
12:00am 27th July 2014
Weymouth's annual Lifeboat week kicks off today, with celebrations in aid of Weymouth Lifeboats.
The events will start with the Lifeboat Service at the Ferry Steps.
The following six days will be packed with activities for the whole family including Lifeboat demonstrations, Tug-o-War competitions and live music.
Tony Beeson, Chairman of the Weymouth Lifeboat Week Committee told Wessex FM what else we can expect;
''You can see the skill of the Lifeboat crew, the Helicopter crew, the Coastguards and you can see how they work together to save lives at sea.''
The following Saturday there will be a Sea Safety Display and the Grand Raffle Draw will take place.
Weymouth Lifeboats is a charity that only receive money through donations.
Tony hopes to raise money for the charity whilst providing a week packed with fun for the whole family.
