There's been a rise in alcohol related anti-social behaviour in Dorchester.

Police say the incidents are happening late at night, particularly at the weekend.

Inspector Steve Marsh is putting the problem down to the start of the summer holidays.

He says he understands resident's frustrations with being woken up late at night, but his team have been struggling at times to deal with the number of calls they've been receiving.

He says they'll continue to work with licenced premises to make sure they understand their responsibilities.

But he's also asking parents to understand their responsibilities about supplying alcohol to under 18's and to check that they know where their children are.
