We could have less district councillors in West Dorset in future.

The independent local government boundary commission wants to see numbers cut from 48 to 42

These are final recommendations, following a 10 week public consultation.

Ten areas will have two councillors, and four more will have three representatives, while 10 other wards will continue to be represented by a single councillor.

The villages of Chetnole and Stockwood will be taken out of Frome Valley ward and included in Yetminster and Cam Vale ward.

There are also minor alterations in Dorchester.

Parliament will process the order in time to come into force for next year's council elections.

Full details of the Commission's final recommendations  can be viewed  at https://consultation.lgbce.org.uk/node/1551/la=42
