He's made the world's biggest jigsaw for the Queen and now a Weymouth man's trying to cut the fastest jigsaw to mark the anniversary of World War One.
It's a hundred years since the war's start and Dave Evans plans to complete a puzzle themed around the centenery in a couple of hours.
Dave hit national headlines and television screens last year after his 40,763 hand-cut wooden jigsaw, completed in Brewers Quay, fell to the floor! He still got his Guiness World Record for Largest Wood Jigsaw, hand-cut with most pieces and became a Youtube Sensation. The puzzle ended up (complete) in the Queen's residence in Sandringham, before being auctioneed off and the money going to Help For Heroes.
This year Dave is hoping to be more of a noticed part of the task, as he says "the jigsaw became more famous than me last time!".
He has to cut a 1,000 piece jigsaw in under 24 hours, and Dave told us he's feeling confident he'll do it in 2-5 hours, "Most wooden jigsaws are now lazer cut, there aren't that many people left in the world who can actually do hand-cutting, but I reckon I'm probably the fastest in the World anyway. So, I challenge anyone out there who thinks they can go faster than me, give it a go."
Dave said he wouldn't be undertaking his challenge in Weymouth, "I needed a bigger venue this time. Poole Tourism put forward the Dolphin Centre who're really excited about it, and I thought the fact that they have, like, a million people through each month will give me quite an incredible audience for cutting a jigsaw. I should claim a record for having the largest audience for anyone ever cutting a jigsaw!"
Dave says the timed jigsaw cut in Poole will either happen on the 30th of September or the 1st of October.
