Fancy Being a Sooty Box Collector?
9:11am 6th August 2014
A leading charity for the blind is looking for more volunteers in Dorset - with the help of a children's favourite.
The RNIB has used Sooty boxes to raise money since the 1960s.
Now they're looking for residents particularly in Weymouth, Wareham and Dorchester to carry on the tradition and become charity box collectors.
The RNIB need you to visit local sites to pick up our full Sooty collection boxes, replace them with new boxes, count the money that has been kindly donated by the public and take the money to the bank.
They also desperately need to find more homes for Sooty. If just a few people could give a small amount of spare time, they have recognised potential to bring in a further £10,000 in vital funds every year (by placing 350 new boxes in the Bournemouth/Poole area, with a further 100 boxes across Dorset).
