Police Issue Bike Theft Warning

10:15am 8th August 2014

Dorchester Police say over the past few weeks there have been several thefts of bicycles from villages, campsites and in Dorchester town area.

Most of them have been unlocked and left in gardens or outside houses.

A spokesman from Dorchester Police said:

"It only takes a minute for an opportunist to take them so please ensure where ever you leave your bike even if its just for a short while you lock it up and if possible to something solid ideally using a D lock.  It is also a good idea to security mark your bike and keep all the details i.e make, model, picture in a safe place. If you need any advice on security please contact 101 for your Safer neighbour Hood Team."
