Woman And 6 Children Cut Off By Tide

Weymouth Inshore Lifeboat

11:44am 12th August 2014

A woman and 6 children had to be rescued in Lyme Regis last night after getting cut off by the tide.

The party became stranded at the breakwater and were taken back to shore by lifeboat.

Meanwhile, two teenagers became cut off by the tide while fossil hunting near Charmouth Beach.

A worried member of the public called the coastguard and kept watch while they waded back to the main beach.
