Live Grenade Found On Chesil Beach
1:02pm 15th August 2014
A bomb disposal team were called to Chesil Beach yesterday afternoon after a hand grenade was discovered.
The grenade, which was still live, was thought to be from the 2nd World War.
Crews carried out a controlled explosion to deal with it.
It's the second time a live, explosive device has been found on the beach recently.
The advice is, if you come across a suspicious object don't attempt to move it. Place a marker object near to the suspect item if its safe to do so, then call 999 immediately and ask for the coastguard.
