Werymouth Girl Looking to Become Face of the Globe
7:48am 22nd August 2014
Darcy Lane from Weymouth has been chosen to compete for a place in a global beauty pageant, Face of the Globe, in Disneyland Paris.
The 11-year-old was picked to compete in the junior section at a regional heat on the 24th August in Ellestree Studios, London.
If successful, she will go on with five other representatives to compete in Disneyland Paris against girls from around the world.
The pageant is in aid of Rainbow Child Foundation, which helps underprivileged children around the world and was founded by X Factor star Chico Slimani.
Alongside looks, judges will be focusing on the personalities of the contestants and awards such as Miss Publicity and Miss Charity as they raise money for the foundation.
Darcy is looking forward to the pageant: "I'd like to help people all around the world. I'm a bit nervous but excited."
