Firefighters Come to the Rescue of Two Animals in Trouble

Dorset Fire And Rescue Badge

11:39am 26th August 2014

Dorset Fire and Rescue were called to two animal rescues during the bank holiday.

At just before 1 o'clock, the service, along with Portland Coastguard, saved a dog who had fallen into a quarry in Portland. Firefighters went into the quarry to prevent the dog from falling a further 100ft.

And just before 10 o'clock in the evening, they came to the rescue of Mimi the cat, who had trapped herself in the facia board of a house trying to shelter from the rain. The facia was cut, allowing the cat to make her own way to her owner.
