Young Dancers From Dorset To Take To The Stage In London
8:35am 3rd September 2014
Six boys from Quay Theatre Arts in Weymouth have been chosen to dance on stage at the Royal Albert Hall in November as part of an international dance spectacular.
The annual Dance Proms gives students a chance to perform in front of dance lovers, talent scouts and celebrity patrons including Darcey Bussel CBE, Kimberly Wyatt, and Wayne Sleep OBE.
Last April Dance Proms asked teachers from around the world to video a short dance piece and submit it online.
From there a panel chose 23 acts to take part alongside several celebrity gust acts including Matthew Golding and Akane Takada from the Royal ballet.
The Quay Theatre Arts students who are aged between 14 and 19 will perform a modern piece called Sail.
