Local Artists Open Up Their Studios To The Public

You may have heard of Indiana Jones, but you have you heard of Weymouth's Raiders of the Lost Art?

A group of young artists are displaying their pottery, glasswork, textiles and more as part of the Artwey September 2014 Art Trail, in Upwey Old School Village Hall.

You can visit 13 other artists and venues who're also opening their studios and homes to the public.

One Weymouth artist opening up her home is Cat Owens.  She explained to Wessex FM how Artwey has helped the creative community;

"Before Artwey we were a bit disparate and it meant just meeting with your friends that were artists.  It's really helped me to meet more people and it's really nice when we take the time to feed back to each other."

She continued to add how easily anyone can find the venues, "We've produced a map and you can pick them up at any of the venues and if you want to find out where these are, you can go to www.artwey.co.uk. Often people look at the map and decide who they would like to see, there's a whole variety, its what appeals to you."
