Abuse

6:42am 9th September 2014
(Updated 8:26am 9th September 2014)

New help is being made available for past and present victims of domestic violence.

Free courses are being offered in Weymouth and Portland and West Dorset designed to help victims of domestic abuse rebuild their lives and understand their situation.

D.A.I.T. (Domestic Abuse Intervention Training) have been supplying advice to female domestic abuse sufferers for over 20 years.

They have now secured funding from Synergy Housing and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner to offer two different courses designed to help abused women regain their self-confidence and self-esteem, and to teach them how to find and recognise the signs of abuse.

The group is also set to run courses next year for men who have suffered domestic abuse.

If you would like to find out more call D.A.I.T in 01305 265148 or email dait@talktalk.net.
