Dorset Crimestoppers has been shortlisted for an award for its contribution to reducing crime on farms.
The South West Country Crime Fighters Award, given by the insurance firm NFU Mutual, awards up to £1,500 to rural initiatives and local unsung heroes in crime-fighting.
Crimestoppers has been commended for its work in raising awareness of rural crime, painting a tractor in police colours and touring it around the county's agricultural shows.
They also run an initiative called 'Farmwize', which enables farmers to learn different ways to prevent crime on their farms at local colleges.
Regional judge and manager for NFU Mutual in the South West, Alan Milstead, said: “I have been amazed by the sheer level of innovation of this year’s candidates.
“The dedication to help reduce rural crime is inspirational and I commend their efforts to help raise awareness of this plight and bring people to justice.”
