Music And Arts Festival Coming To Weymouth School
6:53am 16th September 2014
Parents, students and teachers from a Weymouth school are joining together to host their first ever music and arts festival.
All Saints School will be raising money for school equipment at the event on Saturday 20th September.
The day will include live music, fashion shows, dance displays and the more traditional fete stalls, and the Friends of All Saints School Association (FASSA) who are helping to organise it say they are hoping thousands will attend.
Wessex FM will be opening the festival at 12 noon, and it's due to finish at 5pm.
Amanda Dunning, who has helped FASSA with the organising, says they've had some great support from the local community so far, "local bands are playing, such as The Crack, we've got lots of community groups doing displays such as Weymouth Rugby Club, and there are two fashion shows, one from ASDA and another from Bridal and Prom on Abbotsbury Road."
She also explained what a difference the fundraising makes to the school, "Towards IT equipment and other things that the teachers have requested, as an example we had a request for microscopes the other day. There's always little extras that the teachers need to help the children to learn, and these little things really do make a difference.''
