Racial Abuse Attack In Weymouth
7:39am 16th September 2014
Three men have been arrested and released on bail after allegedly shouting out threatening racial abuse in Weymouth.
Police say the incident happened around 4pm on Saturday 6th September along The Esplanade.
Sergeant Steve Yeoman, of the Weymouth Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "The Esplanade was very busy at that time and the incident would have been witnessed by a lot of people.
"Several members of the public have already spoken to police regarding the incident as many of them felt extremely offended. The Esplanade was full of families with young children who were visibly upset.
"I appeal for witnesses to come forward and contact Dorset Police to help with this investigation."
Two Weymouth men, aged 26 and 45, and a 34-year-old Dorchester man were arrested on suspicion of using racially aggravated threating and abusive words and released on bail pending further enquiries.
