Boy (10) Grabbed By Man In West Dorset

Police in West Dorset have launched an investigation after a 10-year-old boy was grabbed by a man in Sherborne.

Detectives have just told Wessex FM the incident happened around 7pm last Friday, near a park along Bristol Road.

It's reported that boy was grabbed by the scruff of the neck by an unknown man, before he pulled himself free and ran home.

Detective Constable Tony O'Connell, of Western CID, said: "We are investigating what exactly happened.

"I would urge anyone with information about the incident to contact police.

"In particular, I am keen to talk to the owner of a black car that was seen nearby at the time as this motorist may have information that may help with my investigation."

No arrests have been made.
