Dorset Doctors Say Time To Book Flu Jab

Nurse Injection

6:17am 22nd September 2014

You can book your annual flu jab at doctors' across Dorset.

They're writing to patients aged 65 or over, and those with medical conditions which make them more vulnerable to catching it, and for who the symptoms may be more severe, eg pregnancy, diabetes.

Side effects may include a slight temperature and aching muscles for a few days but medics are convinced its better than getting full blown influenza, especially for the elderly and those with specific medical conditions.

Children aged 2 and 3 have been given the vaccine as a nasal spray, and this is being extended to four year olds as the NHS look to minimise the risk of influenza being caught at school.

Further information about the jab along with vaccinations for children can be found at www.nhs.uk
