Dorchester Business Moves Home After 50 Years

Clock House

6:36am 7th October 2014
(Updated 10:08am 7th October 2014)

After 50 years in the business, Dorchester's Clockhouse is moving back to its original home today.

They're marking the special anniversary by returning to 28 South Street.

The family-run specialist clock restoration shop will be open its doors to the public at 10am.

Owner Fred Burgess was 15 when he started working with his parents.

He told Wessex FM he's looking forward to passing the business on to his children;

"I can't believe it.  All the family with me, my son and two daughters are actually going to start to take over the business and I'll just be in the background, so hopefully I'll start to have a quieter life."
