Dorset County Council is continuing their contract with school meals provider Chartwells despite serious problems with their deliveries at the start of the school year.
They said there are no other alternatives available at the moment after the council's audit and scrutiny committee's meeting earlier today.
Chartwells wasn't able to deliver meals to certain schools while others were given poor quality food after a fire at the company's kitchen caused major problems for the provider.
Both the Managing Director of the company and the council have apologised for the error that led to school children going without meals.
The company is moving to a new kitchen in Poole and claims that will solve all the previous problems and will be able to meet its contractual obligations to the council.
The Audit and Scrutiny Committee is looking into the findings from its meeting to see how to avoid this happening again.
