Homeless Service Facing Increasing Demand

10:11am 17th October 2014

A service which helps people facing homelessness in Dorset is looking for a helping hand.

First Point Dorset, who are based in Poundbury say they are being inundated with increasing demands for their support.

They're putting that down to Welfare reforms, which they say are putting extra pressures on their service.

They're using Volunteers Week which starts on Monday (20th October) as a chance to ask for new recruits.

Emily Lightfoot from the service told Wessex FM;  "We can offer training and references. Helping people to make a difference can really give you a sense of pride and confidence if you're thinking about going back into work."
For more information call First Point Dorset on 01305 216230.
