Strong winds gusting at up to around 80 miles per hour are forecast to batter Dorset this morning.

The Environment Agency issued a flood warning for Preston Beach in Weymouth.  That's no longer in force.

Flooding may affect properties, low lying areas and roads. There may be significant spray and shingle overtopping affecting the coast road.

Meanwhile, a Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for West Coast of Dorset.

Flooding is possible for Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Seatown, West Bay, Bothenhampton, Burton Freshwater, Burton Bradstock, Cogdean Beach, Chesil Beach, West Fleet, East Fleet and Chiswell  tomorrow morning.

The bad weather is due to the aftermath of Hurricane Gonzalo, which hit the Caribbean last week.
Ten per cent of flights in and out of Heathrow have already been cancelled.
