Ball gowns, sequins and tassels in Bere Regis have helped raise money to provide clean water for a hospital in Zimbabwe.

Organisers "Pop In Place" scored full marks on the judges card after raising over £1,000 for the charity led by Dorset's Reverend Alan Clarredge.

The River of Living Water Project will see a clean water mains supply fitted to a hospital in Bulawayo.

Villagers in Crossways have also donated baby clothes and blankets that Reverend Clarredge will distribute it to orphanages and the needy on an aid trip next month.

The proceeds will be handed over this Friday (24th October) at Drax Hall in Bere Regis.
