Dorset Teacher Wins National Award

If you're planning on watching the Teaching Awards on telly tonight - keep your eye out for Carly Jones.

Carly is from The Purbeck School in Wareham and has won a silver prize - for outstanding teacher of the year.

She's only in her second year of teaching and has already been made assistant head of English at her school.

The Pearson Teaching Awards are an annual celebration of exceptional teachers and teaching, founded in 1999 by Lord Puttnam, they recognise the life-changing impact of an inspirational teacher on the lives of the young people they teach.
