Team Sky Team Build At Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy

Luke Patience with Chris Froome

9:07am 5th November 2014

Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy has been helping Tour de France winner Chris Froome swap two wheels for three sails.

As was part of Team Sky's team building day with the British Sailing Team, the elite cyclists got to make full use of the 2012 Olympic Sailing venue's facilities.

Sky's Team Principal Sir David Brailsford wanted his team to do something a bit different "in a world class, high performance environment."

80 members of Team Sky were on site at WPNSA where they were ably assisted by some of Britain's best Olympic and Paralympic Classes talents including WPNSA Director and Paralympic gold medallist Helena Lucas as well as double Olympic medallist Nick Dempsey and silver medallist Luke Patience.

The Academy currently runs a number of high profile regattas throughout the year.
