Weymouth CAB Open Later Tonight
8:19am 6th November 2014
People living in Weymouth and Portland for the first time can get free and confidential advice in the evenings.
Weymouth and Portland Citizen's Advice Bureau is opening its doors tonight (6th November) from 5pm-7pm as well as its normal daytime hours.
They’ll be open every Thursday evening for a trial period.
The CAB say they're trying to meet the growing demand for the service after over 3,000 new clients came to them for help last year.
Bob Bullin, the bureau manager, told Wessex FM: "Many local residents work full-time and are unable to access our service during the day so we hope that an extension to our opening hours will enable more people to seek the help they need."
The CAB offers independent and impartial advice on a wide range of subjects and is run almost exclusively by volunteers.
Rachel Rogers, who is in charge of the bureau's advice services said, " If evening opening proves popular we will aim to extend the pilot scheme to make it a full part of our provision, though this will of course be subject to volunteer availability."
