Mobility Scooter Driver Has His Bag Snatched In Weymouth

A vulnerable man in Weymouth on a mobility scooter has had his bag stolen as he drove along the Rodwell Trail.

The local man in his 60’s was approached by another man on Monday (3rd November) who started chatting to him around 1:20pm.

He then grabbed the bag from the front of scooter and ran off towards Abbotsbury Road.

Police Constable Richard Shirley told Wessex FM: "I am keen to speak with anyone who saw what happened or who has any information that could assist our investigation.

"I am also keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the offender in the area of the Rodwell Trail at approximately 1.30pm on Monday 3 October 2014."

The offender was described as white, in his mid-twenties, five feet ten inches tall, of medium build and unshaven. He was wearing a dark green beanie hat, a dark green windcheater zip up waist length jacket, dark blue denim jeans and trainer boots.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 03:210.
