Jewellery And Camera Stolen From Car In Weymouth

Hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery and a camera were stolen from a car in Weymouth.

The black Renault Laguna was broken into overnight while it was parked in Westway Road sometime between the 30th of October and the 4th of November.

A number of distinctive items of jewellery were taken from the vehicle including:

- A long silver chain with a full-sized orange and green enamelled thimble on it
- A three-strand pearl necklace, with a large clasp about the size of a 50 pence piece. The clasp is distinctive being green on one side and mother of pearl colour on the other
- Two strands of African trading beads
- Two silver chains with Tiffany charms on them
- A set of handmade earrings in pearl drop design.

Thieves also stole a Sony SLR camera without a case.

Police Constable Adam Bayliss, of Weymouth police, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident to contact Dorset Police on 101 as soon as possible.

"I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered such items for sale in strange circumstances or for an unusually low price.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 4:388. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
