Portland Man Buys Field In Memory of His Mum

After losing his mum to Leukaemia, a Portland resident is honouring her memory by buying three and a half acres of land on Portland Bill.
Mark Winterburn has set up 'Annie's Field' at the southernmost tip of the island with the money his mum left him in her will to preserve the natural beauty of the land.
He told Wessex FM: "My mum was very passionate about the environment, the natural work and Portland itself. We moved down to Portland when I was 10 years old and a lot of my childhood was spent running around Portland Bill. So it's basically a tribute to her."
