Two local women are making some of the most unlikely Dorset residents stars in their new book.
Elizabeth Pope and Millie Pilkington have photographed and interviewed nearly 90 local men and women to put 'The Great Faces of Dorset' together.
We interviewed photographer, Millie, and author, Elizabeth to learn more.
Millie explained where her inspiration came from, "When I moved to Dorset in 2007 I was inspired by the wonderful diversity of people who live and work here; chicken auctioneers and sand sculpturers. So I came up with the idea of doing a book to celebrate the wonderful characters which make Dorset such a wonderful and magical place to live in."
Elizabeth gave us some clues as to who features in the book, "We interviewed a dancer, a teacher, a Michelin star chef, a stone balancing artist, glass blower, quite a well-known Milliner, and actually talking of famous people there are a few very high profile people in the book, but we both felt that some of the people who aren't well known at all are just as important as the famous ones, and everyone had such fascinating stories to tell."
When we asked them what they had learnt about the people of Dorset through their journey, they both commented on how they had been overwhelmed with how easily people had welcomed them into their lives. The women also said they would now be embarking on a 'Great faces of Somerset' book, and encouraged anybody who knows an interesting character in Somerset to get in touch.
'The Great Faces of Dorset' is on sale now, more information can be found here.
