Weymouth & Portland Borough Council is 'delighted' to have sold Guildhall to a TV antiques dealer.
The council has sold the Grade II listed building to Antiques expert James Braxton who is looking to restore the property back to its full use.
The council has been looking to sell Guidhall to help save money in the face of funding cuts and to help fund an office move to North Quay.
Cllr Colin Huckle, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Finance & Assets Briefholder said: "We are delighted to have sold the Guildhall to antiques expert James Braxton who through Acearetrofit Property Limited submitted the highest tender.
"We would like to wish Mr Braxton good luck with his new venture and look forward to seeing the Guildhall being brought back into its full use."
James Braxton has appeared on BBC's Antiques Road Trip and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.
