Football - Its Dorchester V Weymouth Old Boys

8:36am 27th November 2014

Footballers, ex-players and even the managers are lacing up their boots to take part in a special charity match.

Dorchester are playing Weymouth this Sunday (30th November) for a local boy.

George Pattison has been left in a wheelchair as after contracting Meningitis as a baby -  so the teams are helping to raise money for the charities that saved his life.

George's Mum Naomi Patterson told Wessex FM: "I'm just so overwhelmed by the local support. Everybody has come together for this event. It's really nice to see both football clubs getting involved and we also have the two managers getting involved in the day as well."

There's also an auction full of items donated by both the local clubs and major Premier League teams.

Bidders could walk away with a Manchester United signed football, a QPR signed shirt, a Weymouth signed shirt, Paul Gascoigne signed boots or a Kevin Keegan signed England shirt.

Naomi also told us that as George is a big football fan, it seemed like the perfect way to raise money, and George and his classmates will be mascots on the day.

The match is this Sunday - 30th November at Dorchester Town Football Club, with an 11am kick-off.
