6 Pet Rabbits And Guinea Pigs Found Dumped

rspca

8:54am 28th November 2014

Four rabbits and two pet guinea pigs have been found dumped in a field in Dorset.

One rabbit had already died and the other was so emaciated it had to be put down by a vet.

The rabbits and guinea pigs were found on a track near the Corke and Bottle in East Morden on Tuesday.

The four surviving pets are now recovering at Ashley Heath Animal Centre.

The RSPCA say if they haven't have been found - all the animals would have died.

They've received reports of 350 animals being abandoned in Dorset this year.

RSPCA inspector Graham Hammond said:  "Without the quick thinking and kindness of the person who called us all of the animals would have perished.

"They had just been left there to fend for themselves and domestic rabbits and guinea pigs cannot just survive in the wild."

Anyone who has any information about this incident should contact the RSPCA in confidence on 0300 123 8018.
