Dorset Patients To Benefit From New X-Ray Equipment
10:25am 4th December 2014
Patients at Dorset County Hospital are now being offered x-rays from state of the art technology.
The new Fluoroscopy equipment uses an imaging technique that will be quicker and more convenient for those being scanned.
It uses x-rays to get real-time moving images of the internal structures of a patient and can be used for anything from investigating female infertility to looking at tear duct blockages.
Radiography operational superintendent Linda Chappell said: "We are really pleased to offer local patients state-of-the-art fluoroscopy investigations on this new digital equipment.
"Patients have had to travel to other local hospitals for their appointments. Now the waiting times will be shorter and it's much more convenient for our inpatients.
"As always our diagnostic imaging team is looking to offer the best possible service to our patients."
DCH is the first district general hospital in the country to install a new fluoroscopy system from Xograph Healthcare.
