Dorset's Only Michelin Starred Restaurant Will Close Its Doors
2:05pm 5th December 2014
Dorset's only Michelin starred restaurant will be calling its final orders when it closes in April next year.
The Sienna in Dorchester entered the illustrious group of select restaurants in 2010 when they were awarded the prestigious Michelin star but they'll be serving their last dinner 12 years to the day they opened.
But Owner and Chef Russell Brown says the food scene in the county still looks very tasty.
He told Wessex FM: "There are a huge number of restaurants, pubs, cafes and so on in Dorset. We've got access to wonderful produce and it's a great county from a food point of view."
Russell and his wife Elena are closing up shop when their lease runs out on the property on High West Street because they say they've taken the business as far as they can.
A small venue and limited room for expansion played a part in the decision as well as a desire to try and do something new.
Mr Brown will be starting up a new website that will help consult with other businesses to help share the expertise he has gained after more than a decade in the trade called creativeaboutcuisine.co.uk.
