Wessex FM can reveal that commercial negotiations are taking place between the Ministry of Justice and the possible new owners of Dorchester Prison.

They say they want to seek the best value for money for the tax payer.
The Victorian Jail closed its doors this time last year.
West Dorset MP Oliver Letwin has welcomed news of a possible redevelopment:
"I have yet to see any of the proposals and obviously what we want is something that's both sympathetic to the character of the old buildings but something that also provides housing and local job opportunities."
