Dispute Over How Much Renewable Energy Dorset Is Making
9:16am 8th December 2014
There's a dispute between Dorset County Council and the campaign to protect rural England as to how close the county is in reaching its target for renewable energy.
The CPRE claim Dorset's already at 97% of the Government's requirement.
But Dorset County Council's Environment and Economy Director, Mike Harries says his department's figures show it's between 35% to 55%.
The CPRE claims that Dorset is disappearing under solar panels and wind turbines, with 2,000 acres now allocated to renewable energy schemes.
