Friends Of Castle Cove To Hold Public Meeting
12:22pm 10th December 2014
A friends group fighting to get back public access to Castle Cove Beach in Weymouth are meeting tonight. (10th December)
They'll be picking a logo for their cause from 180 entries by local children.
Steve Elsworth from the group says they'll also be an update on how the campaign is going.
"People are just coming out of the woodwork to support this campaign. Also we've done an in depth analysis for the scientific basis for closing the beach, and apparently it doesn't exist, so we'll be explaining that to people as well."
"Next we need to start talking to the politicians because we can only solve it by talking to the politicians. And we've been briefing perspective Parliamentary candidates because we are going to make this an issue for the General Election next May. So all of the publicity we have seen up until now will be small compared to what's going to happen after Christmas."
Tonight's meeting is being held at St Nicolas Church Hall, Buxton Road, DT4 9PJ.
Tonight's Running Order:
7 - 745pm - Displaying Logo Designs - Kids Treasure Hunt.
7.45pm - Announcing winner of logo competition.
7.50pm - Presentation and Q&A session
8.15pm - Formal AGM
